DOCUMENT SUMMARY: The OCC, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on a continuing information collection, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a respondent is not required to respond to, an information collection unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. The OCC is soliciting comment concerning its information collection titled, ``Fair Housing Home Loan Data System Regulation12 CFR 27.''

Title: Fair Housing Home Loan Data System Regulation12 CFR 27.
OMB Control No.: 15570159.
Description: The Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. 3605) prohibits discrimination in the financing of housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The Equal Credit Opportunity Act (15 U.S.C. 1691 et. seq.) prohibits discrimination in any aspect of a credit transaction on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, receipt of income from public assistance, or exercise of any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act. The OCC is responsible for ensuring that national banks comply with those laws. This information collection is needed to promote national bank compliance and for OCC to fulfill its statutory responsibilities.
The information collection requirements in 12 CFR part 27 are as follows:
Type of Review: Revision of a currently approved collection.
Affected Public: Businesses or other forprofit.
Estimated Number of Respondents: 1,712.
Estimated Total Annual Responses: 2,871.
Estimated Frequency of Response: On occasion.
Estimated Time per Respondent: 2.68 hours.
Estimated Total Annual Burden: 4,595.84 hours.
Comments submitted in response to this notice will be summarized
and included in the request for OMB approval. All comments will become a matter of public record. Comments are invited on:
(a) Whether the collection of information is necessary for the
proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information has practical utility;
(b) The accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the collection of information;
(c) Ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected;
(d) Ways to minimize the burden of the collection on respondents,
including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology; and
(e) Estimates of capital or startup costs and costs of operation,
maintenance, and purchase of services to provide information.
