I. Funding Opportunity Description

Purpose of Program: The purpose of the grant program for statewide longitudinal data systems is to promote the generation and accurate and timely use of data that are needed to: (1)

Comply with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended, and other reporting requirements, and (2) facilitate analyses and research to improve student academic achievement and close achievement gaps. This purpose is served by providing assistance to State educational agencies to enable them to design, develop, and implement statewide, longitudinal data systems to manage, analyze, disaggregate, and use individual student data.
