Yucca Mountain; Notice of Receipt and Availability of Application]]></title>

</p><p>    On June 3, 2008, the Department of Energy (DOE, or the Applicant) 
filed a license application for a geologic repository to be located at 
Yucca Mountain in Nye County, Nevada with the Nuclear Regulatory 
Commission (the Commission) pursuant to section 114 of the Nuclear 
Waste Policy Act, as amended, 42 U.S.C. 10134, 10 CFR Part 63 and 10  CFR 2.101.</p><p>    The information submitted by the Applicant includes information 
that the Applicant has identified as classified national security 
information. For informational purposes, the Applicant also provided, 
in electronic format, copies of primary references, and a matrix that 
crossreferences sections of the application to 10 CFR Part 63 and  NUREG1804.</p><p>    Subsequent Federal Register notices will address the NRC Staff's 
determination of the acceptability or nonacceptability of the tendered 
application for docketing and provisions for participation of the  public in the review process.</p><p>    A copy of the application is available for public inspection at th<script type="text/javascript">

continued approval of information collections under the provisions of 
the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

The title of the information collection: NRC Form 536,  ``Operator Licensing Examination Data.''<br/> </p><p>    2. Current OMB approval number: 31500131.</p><p>    3. How often the collection is required: Annually.
</p><p>    4. Who is required or asked to report: All holders of operator 
licenses or construction permits for nuclear power reactors. </p><p>    5. The number of annual respondents: 80.</p><p>    6. The number of hours needed annually to complete the requirement  or request: 80.</p><p>    7. Abstract: NRC is requesting renewal of its clearance to annually 
request all commercial power reactor licensees and applicants for an 
operating license to voluntarily send to the NRC: (1) Their projected

  <title><![CDATA[
Duke Power Company LLC, et al.; Notice of Consideration of  Issuance of Amendments to Facility Operating Licenses,]]></title>

</p><p>    The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) is 
considering issuance of an amendment to Facility Operating License Nos. 
NPF35 and NPF52 issued to Duke Power Company LLC, et al., for 
operation of the Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, located in 
York County, South Carolina, and Facility Operating License Nos. NPF9 
and NPF17 for operation of the McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2,  located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.</p><p>    The proposed amendment would revise the Catawba Nuclear Station, 
Units 1 and 2, and the McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, Updated 
Final Safety Analysis Reports by requiring an inspection of each ice 
condenser within 24 hours of experiencing a seismic event greater than 
or equal to an operating basis earthquake within the five (5) week 
period after ice basket replenishment has been completed to confirm  that adverse ice fallout has not occurred.</p><p>    Before issuance of the proposed license amendment, the Commission

AREVA NP Inc.; Notice of Receipt of Application for Design  Certification of the U.S. EPR]]></title>

</p><p>    Notice is hereby given that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, 
the Commission) has received an application from AREVA NP Inc. (AREVA) 
dated December 11, 2007, filed pursuant to section 103 of the Atomic 
Energy Act and Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 
Part 52, for standard design certification of the U.S. EPR Standard  Plant Design.</p><p>    The U.S. EPR design is an approximately 1600 megawatts electric 
evolutionary pressurized water reactor (PWR). The primary system 
design, loop configuration, and main components design are similar to 
those of currently operating PWRs. The U.S. EPR contains unique design 
features, such as four redundant trains of emergency core cooling; 
Containment and Shield Building, and a core melt retention system for 
severe accident mitigation. The U.S. EPR application includes the  entire power generation complex,<br/> [[Page 2287]]<br/>
except those elements and features considered sitespecific. The
